Save the Date: Autism Fall Festival October 3 in Pottstown

October 5, 2015

**Due to Hurricane Joaquin, the Autism Fall Fest has been postponed until October 17th!**

Child Guidance Resource Centers is organizing Autism Fall Festival on October 17th, 2015, from 11am-4pm, a day specifically designed for families with a member on the autism spectrum. Autism Fall Fest is specifically designed to offer fun and therapeutic activities for children with a wide spectrum of sensory/stimulation needs. Every aspect of the day is structured to provide a safe and fun experience for everyone in the family.

There will be horse therapy, lego fun, live music, food trucks with gluten-free/casein-free food options, pony rides, a petting zoo, massage therapy, therapeutic play areas, hay rides, bamboo forest and nature trails, pumpkin painting, arts and crafts tent, quiet/cool-down rooms, picture schedules and more!  Autism Fall Fest is a day you will always remember.

While there are so many organizations that offer therapy, do research, and offer resources to families, there has never been something like Autism Fall Fest. Child Guidance Resource Centers, a local non-profit that offers therapeutic support to children and families with a variety of behavioral health and mental health needs, is organizing Autism Fall Fest, a day specifically designed for families with autism in the Delaware Valley. From the position of music, quiet rooms, therapeutic toy areas, petting zoo, sensory spaces, cool-down areas, etc., the festival has been structured to offer and unforgettable fun day for children and their friends and families with a wide spectrum of sensory/stimulation needs. For many families, Autism Fall Fest is the first (or perhaps only) day with traditional fall fun activities and a vibrant, bright, jovial festival atmosphere where every member of the family can relax and enjoy. We’ve designed a day where everyone can feel comfortable engaging in a truly amazing environment because their specific needs have been taken into account by clinical professionals for every minute of the festival. The festival will take place on October 3th in Pottstown, PA.

Being able to go to a festival, renaissance faire, amusement park, community day, etc. can be taken for granted for families of typically-developing children, but there are many overwhelming stimuli and stressful aspects in something like a Fall Festival that could make the day difficult (or impossible) for families on the autism spectrum. Child Guidance is thrilled to offer an innovative day that provides a wonderful opportunity for families with autism.  To learn more, visit www.autismfallfest.org.
