Dear Rachael, Zach and Blake,
I always knew I wanted to have kids, but I never dreamed of how much having kids would change me...make me better. Becoming a mom made me appreciate everything so much more! Even though I had nine months to prepare for each of your arrivals, all of a sudden when you were born, there was a precious little one who depended on me for everything. But each one of you taught me things about myself, too.
I never could have imagined the intense feelings that come with being a mom. I found such joy and amazement in seemingly simple things like watching each of you discover your feet for the first time or take your first steps on your own. I learned to appreciate the miracle of watching how someone so small can make the biggest impact in so many lives, but mainly in mine!
There are so many lessons and things I learned about myself because of being a mom. I learned to trust my instincts, be present in the moment, how strong I can be when I need to be, the importance of patience, that perfection is impossible, and that being a mom is both the hardest yet most rewarding thing I will ever be.
Being your mom means that I will be here for you whenever you need me, whether you are 6 or 66. I am here for you whenever you need a shoulder to cry on or someone to give you a high five, when you ace the test you were worried about or when your heart has been broken. I will always be your biggest cheerleader, your encourager, and a place you can always turn to.
I continue to learn so much through the three of you, and I look forward to what you will each continue to bring to my life in the future.
