By Jennifer Schorr, Publisher of Macaroni Kid Reading, PA August 29, 2016
New school years will be starting soon, and with that comes the start of Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. As a former Girl Scout Leader, I found it difficult, some years, to find new places to take the troop, that would still help fulfill some of their badges.

Here is a list of some local places in Montgomery County and the nearby areas, which offer scouting programs.

Althouse Arboretum, Pottstown
(Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts)
Bring your troop to the Arboretum for an easy, fun-filled way to complete badge activities. Programs available for grades K-12 and are run by our very own Lifetime Girl Scout Jessica Brennan, Board Member. Contact her for more details!

Scout groups or individual scouts of any age who complete the following will be awarded with a Hershey Story patch: Complete “Scouting for History” in the Museum Experience and attend a Chocolate Lab class or a special holiday program, such as Black Cat Alley or Little Elves Workshop, or take part in a Chocolate Tasting. Patches will be awarded at The Hershey Story admissions desk upon completion of the above activities. For reservations and group rates contact: grouptours@hersheystory.org or 717.520.5596.
