February 15 - National Gumdrop Day -
It’s National Gumdrop Day! Gumdrops are a tasty, chewy candy made with gelatin and coated with sugar.  Some people believe that a man named Percy Trusdale invented the gumdrop in 1801, but this is not a proven fact. What we do know is that gumdrops have been a popular confection for at least two hundred years. The board game Candy Land features both a Gumdrop Pass and a Gumdrop Mountain!  To celebrate National Gumdrop Day, use colorful gumdrops and some toothpicks to create a geometric dome or just buy a bag of them to share with your friends!

February 16 - Do a Grouch a Favor Day -
Everyone has been a grouch at one time or another. Some people are grouchy all of the time. It's in their nature. Others are occasional grouches, influenced by events in their lives, lack of sleep, the weather, etc. A few people are good at disguising their grouchy mood. But, they still need cheering up.

Look around for someone who is in a grouchy mood today. Then, do him or her a favor that will cheer up their day. There's plenty of grouches out there to practice on. Try it on all of the grouches that you see today, and watch the results!

February 17 - Random Acts of Kindness Day
- Today you know what to do! Perform a few random acts of kindness. Almost any kind of deed will do. And, we highly recommend you perform kind acts on as many people as you can.

This is a favorite day of many people and groups. People like the idea of showing a little kindness to others. Its a fun and good thing to do. And, they like being on the receiving end of this day as well. It makes both the giver and the receiver feel good.

A word of caution though, what goes around, comes around. Random Acts of Kindness are highly contagious!

February 18 - Drink Wine Day -  Enjoy a refreshing glass of Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot, or Zinfandel in honor of today!  Studies have shown that drinking a glass of wine a day improves heart health, reduces forgetfulness, boosts immunity, and increases bone density.  And you thought wine was just for storing in a basement at a particular temperature, gathering dust. So pop a cork and let the sweet nectar of the gods breathe!

February 19 - National Chocolate Mint Day - It’s Chocolate Mint Day! Most people agree that mint and chocolate were made for each other. A burst of refreshing peppermint or spearmint combined with the smooth, rich taste of chocolate is a truly unique pairing.

Some of the most famous chocolate mint inventions include: mint chocolate cake, Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies, grasshopper martinis, Andes after-dinner mints, and mint chocolate chip ice cream. Chocolate mint is also a type of herb. It is part of the spearmint family and has edible leaves that taste like chocolate and mint!

To celebrate Chocolate Mint Day, snack on a piece of your favorite chocolate mint candy, enjoy a scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream, or drop a candy cane in a steaming cup of hot cocoa!

February 20 - National Hoodie Hoo Day - I don't know how I lived this long and have never heard of Hoodie Hoo Day! It is observed mostly in the Northern Hemisphere where the winters are long and cold. On this day at Noon you must go outside, shake your hands above your head and shout "Hoodie Hoo" three times!!! Your neighbors may think you're a bit strange, but it sounds like a good excuse to have a little fun and perhaps even a party.

February 21 - National Sticky Bun Day -
Pennsylvanian's have done it again!
The first people to add honey and nuts to their bread were the Ancient Egyptians.  But German settlers in Pennsylvania created our modern-day sticky buns. The pastries were originally called “Schnecken” and are still considered a Philadelphia specialty.  Glazed pastries have been popular ever since!
