Deep Fried Oreo Cookie Truffles

Ooey, gooey deep friend perfection!

By Kimberly Vees March 1, 2013
One of my secret obsessions is Oreos.  I'm embarrassed to say that I have been known to polish off an entire package by myself in a weekend, especially if I am snowed in with 3 kids while my husband is out plowing!  A couple of years ago I made this obsession of mine even worse when I discovered a recipe for Oreo Cookie Truffles.  An amazing concoction of crushed Oreos and cream cheese shaped into balls and dipped in melted chocolate.  Oh my goodness!

If you have ever visited a town fair or carnival then you have seen a wonderful, yummy and sinful treat....Deep Fried Oreo's.  Oreo cookies dipped in funnel cake batter then deep fried and sprinkled with powered sugar.  My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

When Jen and I discovered that March 6th was Oreo Cookie day, I knew that this was my day to explore these two decadent desserts!  After thinking, planning, drooling and dreaming about this I came up with a recipe that takes the best of these two desserts and combines them, Deep Fried Oreo Truffles.  We made them this week with Cassidy and Rachael's Girl Scout troop, and I must say they were to die for!  The girls had a blast making them and Oh Goodness were they yummy!  We hope you enjoy them as much as we did!

Powdered sugar in a sifter.
