There are a ton of crafts you can make with a coffee filter but one of my favorites is a butterfly. This is an easy craft that you can create using household items and best of all it can be completed in less than an hour! Its simple for your littler ones and perfect for celebrating summer.
Supplies
Paint & brushes
Watercolor markers (must be washable or watercolor!)
Chenille Stems (pipe cleaners)
Coffee filters (1 per butterfly)
Clothes Pin (1 per butterfly)
Spray Bottle with water
Additional decorations like eyes (optional)
Directions
1. Paint your clothes pin and set aside to dry. This will become the body of your butterfly.
2. Color you coffee filter in patches. The more color you add the brighter your butterfly will be.
3. Place your coffee filter on a few paper towels and spritz lightly with water. The colors will bleed and run together.
4. Set your coffee filter aside to dry.
5. When your coffee filter and clothes pin are dry, pinch your coffee filter in the middle creating the butterfly's wings. Insert the filter into the opening on your clothes pin.
6. Twist the chenille stem on the top of your clothes pin to make antennae.
7. Hang your butterfly with fishing line or thread!
