Winter Birthday Party Ideas

Just because it's cold outside doesn't mean you can't have just as much fun inside. Here are some fun ideas for celebrating those special winter birthdays.

Camping Party

1. Let the kids build a big fort to sleep under, like a tent.
2. Have a s'mores bar. You can toast marshmallows in a cast iron skillet on the stove, and set up all the fixings so everyone has fun making and eating their s'mores.
3. Let the kids make their own constellation night lights by using empty soup cans. The kids, with help from adults, can use a hammer and nail to make holes in the can in shapes like constellations. Using battery powered tealights, these can be used as nightlights and also let them feel like they are sleeping under the stars.

Art Party

1. You can purchase blank canvases at any local art store, or even the art section of many stores. Let the kids design their own artwork, or for older kids, you can follow a YouTube video with step-by-step instructions. The one I like best is The Art Sherpa.
2. Bake vanilla cupcakes and ice it with plain white icing, but offer a variety of colorful sprinkles and candies like M&Ms, Skittles and Jelly Beans to let each of the kids decorate their own cupcake masterpiece...and then eat it, of course!
3. Decorate with lots of colorful streamers and balloons.

Science Party

1. Visit our Science Projects Pinterest Board for lots of fun ideas you can do with kids.
2. Let the kids make their own ice cream.
3. Decorate for the party using mason jars with colored water inside. Place objects in each one such as ping pong balls made to look like eyes with a permanent marker, toy bugs, snakes, etc.
