Turkey Napkin Ring

By Kimberly Vees November 5, 2013

Here is an easy and adorable Thanksgiving craft using items you just may have in your home!  Both children and adults will love these cute little gobblers!

What you will need:

  • 1 clean (foil removed and emptied, washed and dried) K-cup per person
  • Acrylic paint (we used brown, red, orange and yellow)
  • googly eyes or mini pom poms
  • yellow and red construction paper
  • glue
  • Hot glue gun

Directions:

  1. Make sure your k-cups are clean and dry.  First, cut your k-cup into 9 sections.  A larger part for the body (about 1/2 an inch wide) and 8 feather/holder sections.
  2. Next, cut the head and body out of the large section and cut the rims off the holder sections.
  3. Cut the tops of the 6 feather sections into points, removing the rims.
  4. Paint your turkey and let the first coat dry completely.  Next paint your second coat. *Hint* If you try to paint the second coat before it is dry the paint will wipe off!
  5. Cut a beak out of yellow construction paper and a gobbler out of red construction paper.  Glue them together.
  6. After your turkey is completely dry add your beak and eyes and let them dry.
  7. When everything is dry use your hot glue gun to glue the holder strips together.
