North Coventry Holiday Craft Show

Saturday, November 16, 9:00-3:00

By Amy Lignelli November 12, 2013
You are getting that tingle of excitement mixed with a little panic, aren't you?  Me too!  The holiday shopping season has begun whether you choose to acknowledge it or not.  It is hard to block out the faux Christmas trees that popped up in stores a month ago and all the influx of catalogs weighing down your mailbox already.  I have decided this year instead of dreading the onslaught of Christmas marketing and pressure, I am going to fight back and search out more sane ways of going about my holiday purchases.

I love the idea of supporting Small Business
Saturday, the little guy's answer to Black Friday and Internet Monday, which all, by the way, follow the beloved and often overlooked holiday called Thanksgiving!  I also plan to support local merchants by hitting up the local circuit of craft shows in our area.  What better way to buy a gift for someone you love than using your precious spending money to support a local craftsman?

One such event is coming up this week at North Coventry Elementary School on Saturday, November 16, from 9AM - 3PM.  This annual event has over 70 local crafters plus a supervised and free kids craft section that your little ones can enjoy while you do your shopping.  There is a raffle, baked goods, lunch food and lots of free parking as well as free admission.  This craft show definitely will make it onto my
Saturday to-do list!  See you there!
