Celebrate "Do Something Great Day" with Macaroni Kid!

By Jen Schorr, Publisher of Macaroni Kid Reading-Pottstown September 16, 2014
Macaroni Kid Reading-Pottstown is happy to be joining in with the 1st Annual National Macaroni Kid Do Something Great Day! Instead of Kim and I just doing 1 great thing, we wanted to make this something that everyone can participate in.  As the quote says, "Nobody can do everything, but everybody can do something."

We have highlighted a few different non-profit organizations from our area in our newsletter this week.  From writing letters to soldiers deployed overseas, to donating new items to local organizations, to taking a test drive, there are numerous ways that you can help out within your community.  And the ideas do not stop there.  You do not have to limit your helpfulness to the organizations highlighted here.  You may feel inclined to donate some time at a pet shelter, donate books to a local library, or buy a cup of coffee for the stranger behind you in line.  We are listing many helpful ways that you can pay it forward in another article this week, so be sure to check that out, and get your whole family involved!

Our "Do Something Great Day" is being held on Saturday, September 20, 2014.  We encourage you to do something nice for someone else that day, and after you have done so, please fill out this quick form:

Click here to complete the form.

We want to have a record number of famlies participating, and we will be raffling off many items, ranging from tshirts to activity books, to show our appreciation for helping others!  In order to be eligible to win, you must complete the form above by Saturday, September 27, 2014.  To get 5 bonus entries, send us a picture of you or your kids doing something nice - holding the door for someone, dropping donations off at a local organization, donating your time cleaning up a local park, etc.  The possibilities are endless!
