Thank a Teacher: Win a Fun Night or Assembly for Your Child's School!

Sometimes we take for granted the fact that we trust teachers and schools with our most prized possessions - our children. During the months of October and November, Macaroni Kid wants to give you a way to thank the teachers and staff of your school that have been most influential in your children's lives. Perhaps there was that special teacher who helped your son come out of his shy shell, or maybe a teacher recognized that your daughter needed a little extra help with math and took the time to make sure she didn't fall behind. Whatever the reason, whoever the teacher, we want to help you thank them!

Nominate your favorite teacher(s) and school to win the prizes listed below, and let us know why you think that teacher deserves some extra thanks. We will be highlighting some of the kind words you share about these special teachers in an issue in November, a time when we give thanks for the blessings we have in our life. We will also be sharing posts on our Facebook page with the kind words shared about these special teachers.

Grand Prize: 

A School-wide Assembly or Family Fun Night
The school with the most nominations will win an assembly from Miss Maggie Sings. The winning school will be able to coordinate a time, either during the school day or as a family night one evening, to have this show at their school. Miss Maggie Sings is a show that combines singing, guitar, percussion, poems and stories to entertain children of all ages (and adults, too!).

Teacher Prizes:

5 Teacher Crates full of Supplies
5 teachers will receive a crate full of art & school supplies and books for their classroom. Kids use a ton of supplies, and many times it's the teachers who have to replenish these supplies throughout the year. There will be a few extra goodies in the crates just for the teachers, too.


How to Nominate your child's School & Teacher & School:
We understand that there may be more than 1 great teacher who has been a great influence in your child(ren)'s lives, the same email address may be used daily to nominate your favorites.

How Winners are Chosen:
On November 13, 2016, we will randomly choose 5 teachers using random.org from all the teachers nominated. At that time, we will take the top 5 schools with the most nominations, and we will run a voting contest from November 14 - December 4, and the school with the most votes will win the Grand Prize.



Rules:
Private and public schools are all eligible for the prizes. Schools must fall within the territories covered by Macaroni Kid Reading & Macaroni Kid Southern Montgomery:
Antietam, Boyertown, Brandywine, Colonial, Conrad Weiser, Daniel Boone, Exeter, Fleetwood, Governor Mifflin, Hamburg, Lower Merion, Methacton, Muhlenberg, Norristown, Oley, Perkiomen Valley, Pottsgrove, Pottstown, Reading, Spring-Ford, Schuylkill Valley, Tulpehocken, Upper Merion, Wilson, Wyomissing.

The same email address may be used daily to nominate your favorite school and teacher(s).

Nomination process runs from October 3 - November 13, 2016. Winning school and teachers will be announced in the Macaroni Kid Reading and Southern Montgomery newsletters during the week of November 13, 2016. Winning teachers and schools will be contacted to make arrangements for getting them their prizes.
