This past Friday night, Macaroni Kid Reading hosted a movie night at the Oley Valley Community Library. A few of our subscribers came and enjoyed pizza from Nia's Ristorante Pizzaria and popcorn while watching the new "Ghostbusters" movie, before it was available on Blu-Ray or DVD.

While the movie is rated PG-13, I would not classify this as a scary movie. It had some language that would not be appropriate for young audiences, and at one point a man sticks his middle fingers up, but I still allowed my 7-year old son to watch it. He loved it! Parents and kids alike were filling the room with laughter, and I am sure that I was not the only parent who enjoyed the cameo appearances from the actors in the original movie.
This was such a fun movie, and you can't go wrong with the hilarious cast of women - Melissa McCarthy, Kristin Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. There are times that a cast just works well together, and this certainly seemed like one of those times! Combine the great cast with fantastic special effects and references to the original movie, and you have one fantastic movie to watch this Halloween season! In fact, if you are hosting a Halloween party, I recommend this as the movie you should show!

"Ghostbusters" is available on Digital now and on Blu-ray and DVD on October 11th. The extended edition has 15 more minutes not seen in theaters, and there are over 3 hours of bonus features including a gag reel and deleted scenes. Visit getghostbusters.com for more information.
