Playground Review: Berkshire Heights Playground

By Jennifer Schorr, Publisher May 12, 2018

Berkshire Heights Playground
925 N. 7th Street, Wyomissing

This is a small, but well-maintained park & playground with 2 baseball fields, and play equipment including monkey bars, 2 regular swings & 2 baby swings, 2 slides, a small see-saw and a few other things to play on.

Are there any bathrooms?
Yes, they are by the baseball fields, but they were locked when we visited.

How much parking is there?
There is a large gravel parking lot, but it is quite a distance from the playground.

Is it handicapped accessible?
No. In order to get to the playground from the parking lot, you have to walk down a hill and up another pretty steep hill. If you have a wheelchair or are pushing a stroller, it would be difficult.

Are dogs allowed?
No, per borough ordinance.

Park Amenities:
Trashcans - YES
Recycling - YES
Biking/Walking Trail - NO
Picnic Tables - YES (4)
Open fields - YES
Shade/Trees - There is one tree close to the playground, but it does not provide any shade for the play area.
Water fountains/Vending machine - NO, but there is a snack bar that would probably be open when there are baseball games being played.
Ball fields - YES (2 Baseball fields)
