While Thanksgiving is often a time of getting together with family and loved ones, the cooking and cleaning for the meal can also cause a lot of stress. Plus the added stressors this year of COVID-19. No matter what your situation is, Macaroni Kid Reading wants to enjoy Thanksgiving.

Here are some local resources that give back to the community to ensure everyone can enjoy a hot Thanksgiving meal

Thanksgiving Meal: We will be welcoming people at Hope Lutheran Church at the Greenwich St. side of the church. Turkey and ham with sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans, cornbread stuffing, etc. Hope to serve 200-300 meals and make sure everyone gets dessert, too.

This year will be different from the past because of the COVID-19 rules. We will have a Church Service and Blessings at 10am and then you will be able to pick up a "Carry-Out" type meal for you and your family to enjoy. New this year to help all our community families in need, we will offer a "Drive Through" meal program that will allow you to pick up a full meal while staying in your vehicle, starting at noon.

Thanksgiving Meal: Open to all members, call for reservations. Individuals who are homeless will get a "take out meal". Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, potato filling, sweet potatoes, corn, brussel sprouts, dessert and coffee.


Hope Rescue Mission

Meal for Hope Rescue Mission guests and families from 12:00-1:30pm, 1:30pm for the general public. Open to all in the dining hall of the Mission. There is an ADA ramp going directly into the dining hall from 6th Street.
