By Jennifer Schorr, Macaroni Kid Reading Publisher August 3, 2015
Looking for family-friendly things to do? Each week we will highlight our top 10 list for things to do in a certain area.  Each week we will feature a new area, and this week we are highlighting Boyertown!

1.  Colebrookdale Railroad - If you have a train enthusiast in your family, you will want to check out the Colebrookdale Railroad for one of their upcoming fun excursions like "Autumn Splendor Hayride on Rails" or "Grandparents and Cupcakes Trains". No matter which trip you take, you'll definitely be making magical memories!

2.  Wilcox Farms - You will definitely want to check them out this fall for their amazing corn maze, which is this area's largest! If you click here you can get coupons for it, too! But you don't have to wait until fall for all the fun - you can visit them now for their ice cream - 32 flavors of Nelson Ice Cream (made locally in Royersford), and their home grown fruits and vegetables, too.

3.  Frecon Farms - Pick your own fresh fruit from their orchard or buy it from their store along with their delicious homemade cider and made-from-scratch bakery items in their store! Coming up this week (August 3-8) enjoy their Great Fecon Peach Jubilee - a 6-day celebration of the Pennsylvania peach, ending with a summer menu tasting on August 8, which includes cooking demos and free peach sundaes for everyone!

4.  Zern's Farmer's Market - If you are looking for something in particular, Zern's is probably where you'll be able to find it. From fresh produce to art, collector's items to antiques, furniture to holiday decorations and everything in between! Even if you're not looking for anything, it's still fun to just go and walk around to see all the interesting things available to purchase.

5.  Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles - Come see many cars, trucks, motorcycles and even horse-drawn carriages that were manufactured right here in Pennsylvania! Car enthusiasts and history buffs alike will enjoy learning more about the work that was done at the Boyertown Auto Body Works.

6.  The Other Farm Brewing Company - Known for their own brewed classic beers with locally grown hops, this is no ordinary brewery. Featuring Salsa Social Nights, Open Mic Nights, Live Concerts and more, this is the place to get together with friends, old and new.  And I can't neglect to mention that their coffee is delicious, too!

7.  Zimmer's Pets - Features a large reptile room, a "puppy lounge" where you can meet and greet your new furry friend, a variety of pets to satisfy any family's needs: puppies, kittens, birds, fish, chinchillas, hamsters, rats, frogs, iguanas, plus all the supplies you'll need to take perfect care of all your pets' needs.

8.  The Book Nook - Trade-in the books you own and have already read for store credit! Find more hardcover or paperback books to purchase. They also carry DVD's, and they have recently begun carrying local interest history books. So if you are a bookworm, or you just want a couple new books for an upcoming beach vacation, this is the spot to stock up on books!

9.  Boyertown Community Park - A great place to find community events taking place such as Boyertown Fun Days, Duryea Day, Movies Under the Stars, and more. Plus, it has a playground, 2 picnic pavilions, a walking trail, disc golf course, and a community swimming pool. Right now they are participating in the Pottstown Area's Health & Wellness Foundation's "On Your Park, Get Set, Go!" campaign to continue building a healthy community.

10. Duryea Day - The 50th Annual Duryea Day will be held on Saturday, September 5, and in addition to the featured classic & antique cars, trucks & motorcycles, there will also be food, live music, kids activities including rides & face painting and so much more. I remember going to this as a child, so celebrating with them for their 50th year will be exciting!
